Do you have enough? Enough love, friendship, money? Do you feel whole as a person? When you look in the mirror, do you see a complete multi-dimensional and balanced person? Or do you have a sense of lack? Feeling a sense of lack can come in the form of your material resources, your physical attributes or even your intellectual prowess. For some, the sense of lack is a driving force for the accumulation of things– shoes, the latest technology, the more aggressive workout, the fastest (or the most ecological) car. For others, the sense of lack is a withdrawal from experience. It can take on the forms of panic, depression, fatigue, and/or overindulgence.
How do we develop a sense of completeness and nurture the belief system necessary to maintain an optimistic outlook? How do we overcome the sense of lack and put our faith in the belief in abundance? If we shift our ideas of ‘not enough’ to the idea of plenty or ‘more than enough,’ we shift our whole experience and the circumstances in our lives. When we live in the realm of abundance, we achieve remarkable feats because the fear of not accomplishing vanishes. You have an abundance of talent. You have an abundance of smarts. You have an abundance of good health. You have an abundance of helpful resources. You have an abundance of money. Belief in abundance is the fertile ground needed to nurture creative action. Here’s my favorite quote that is attributed to Goethe,
“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back– Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.”
The quote talks about taking an action and trusting that the Universe will deliver. Do you believe it?
